A - Rugged Land Editing prices our services competitively. However, it is impossible to price a project accurately without knowing at least little bit about it beforehand. For example, a book that needs only a light copy edit will receive a very different quote than one that needs a heavy developmental edit.
Of course, if you are interested in a quote, please get in touch! We don’t bite.
A - All things being equal in terms of quality - your characters are equally compelling, the story moves at a similar pace, etc. - then the simple answer is that you won’t. Your screenplay would be priced at a rate than the historical novel because it is shorter.
A - Our pricing model is not arbitrary. Rather, it is the result of many years of refinement. Much of it has to do with the amount of time it takes to edit a project.
We hold ourselves to a high ethical standard. While different projects have different prices, all of our prices are set by the same standard.
A - The amount of time a project will take depends on the the length of the work and the type of editing it requires. That said, as seasoned professionals, we move quickly.
If, for whatever reason, you need a “rush” on a job, or if you are under some kind deadline, we are willing to accommodate.
A - No. Writing a book proposal is different from researching and writing query letters to literary agents and publishers. Properly speaking, these are two distinct services. When you begin the hiring process for a Book Proposal, we will quote you a price for querying.
A - The best answer to this question is maybe. While we do not, and never will, guarantee that your book will be sold, we do guarantee to use the best of our experience and best efforts, which have succeeded in selling many books in the past.
A - If you are curious about the experience of our previous Editing clients, we believe our testimonials and press (note: link to “testimonials” and “press”) speak for themselves.
However, for more intensive projects, such as an extensive writing project, we will be happy to connect you with a previous client.
